Quality fashion stores and gift shops can be found all over the town but particularly on the pedestrian street. High quality gold (generally 14 carat) and silver are both good buys. Jeweler's can be found in Kothri and on the pedestrian street.
Mats, rugs and carpets are on sale everywhere at all price and quality levels. Fruits and vegetables can be found in all the small greengrocer's shops and supermarkets but a bigger variety can be found in the street market every Saturday morning on Psilinaki street.
In the pasty shops of the area you can taste all the traditional sweets such as kalitsounia, xerortigana and stafithota. Traditional spirits such as raki and local wine can be found in all the wine cellars.
Most of the tourist shops can be found on both Stratigou Samouil and Markopoulou street (promenade). Shop hours are: Monday, Wednesday and Saturday from 9am to 2pm. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 9am to 2pm and 5:30pm to 8:30pm (6pm to 9pm during summer). Tourist related shops are open all day long.
